Personal Statement

I am a fast-learning, hard-working and proactive team player with a keen interest in games development. I have recently earned my degree in Computer Games Development with First Class Honours. I have a particular interest in gameplay mechanics and programming, and often find myself detailing the algorithms for characters' abilities in the games that I play. I have seven years of programming experience, with varying languages, under my belt and would consider myself a capable programmer who is always looking to learn and improve.

Hobbies & Interests

I spend my free time playing multiplayer games in a competitive setting. The most fun I have in games is when I'm trying to be the best I can and I always strive to improve. I follow my own practice routines to stay one step above the rest and play in ranked ladders or competitive game modes to try and reach the highest ranks. I often follow the competitive and esports scenes quite closely to see how my ability holds up against the best and analyse their games to find ways in which I can improve. I currently play Valorant regularly, but in the past I have played Counter-Strike:GO and Apex Legends to high levels. However, I love a good Rogue-Like, RPG or Survival game that I can unwind with.
 

Outside of computer games, I have a particular fascination for marine biology. I have owned aquariums most of my life, including several cold water, tropical and marine tanks. However, my interest exceeds what will fit into a home tank so I love to visit commercial aquariums or go fishing whenever I get the chance. I currently have a small planted tank housing Amano Shrimp, Rabbit Snails and a small shoal of Harlequin Rasboras.
 

My other hobbies include collecting vinyls, brewing kombucha, anime and manga, growing houseplants and playing sudokus, crosswords and other logic puzzles/brain teasers.
